Hey Farley,

Thanks for coming to the talk! The files aren't actually ready for download just yet because I have to find somewhere to host them- 800MB will strangle the bandwidth for this site so it will have to be sourceforge. Before I can do that I have to sort out the licensing of a few components- in particular the menu. If you want to see the original form of that- go to dailycupoftech and look for the USB drive menu. That's where I got it from originally. Please check back on the blog for updates about portable gis- I hope I can get moving on the hosting and licensing soon then I will get it online.

Thanks again for coming along to the talk,

Jo

Jo,

Saw you at FOSS4G today. Great topic. I cannot find where you have the files for download though. Where can I obtain your zip file?

Also I have been using pstart, but will be checking out AutoIt.

Hi Jonathan,

Hopefully my talk will be included in the proceedings for FOSS4G and on the website. I will also host it here, so check back in a month or so (when hopefully I'll have recovered). If you're moving into this area it would be cool to talk anyhow- so do get in touch!

I am moving into the use of GIS with geoarchaeology and could do with as much information on the state of GIS as possible. Is there any way I could get a copy of your talk and distributables?

Hi Karl,

Thanks for popping by! Hopefully yes, I will be able to release a preliminary version of portable GIS soon, and I will post here when I do to let people know where to find it.

Hi Jo,
Sounds nice.
Do you have a FTP-site from where it is possible to download later this month, when I return from field work in Southern Greenland?
Unfortunately I am not able to visit the Foss4g - I should, though, since there is just opened a flight route from Greenland to Baltimore..
All the best

Hey Leif,

If you've got a stick of 1GB capacity or more, I'll send you a zip file (just want to upgrade everything to the latest version first)
